BMMS Winter Concert CDs Now Available

CDs of both BMMS Winter Concerts are now available at BMMS from Mr. Glynn. Each CD is available for a $5.00 donation. Have your student bring in cash or a check made out to: Bellingham High School.

All proceeds go to music students in Bellingham, grades 5-12.

The BMMS Student Artist Recital, scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, has been cancelled.

5th & 6th Band Winter Concert Information

Our first concert is this Wednesday, January 25th, Bellingham High School Auditorium, 6:30 pm. All students must be at the high school by 5:30. 5th Grade reports to the band room, 6th Grade reports directly to the stage. The dress code for the concert is a white top (dress shirt, blouse, etc.) and black bottoms (pants, dress, etc.) with black socks and shoes.

Make sure you have your instrument and music/Essential Elements book.

Calendar Update – please read!

Hi everyone! We had to delete the calendar that was previously posted on the website and install a new one. (Google made some changes in December that disabled our editing capabilities.) If you “sync’d” the calendar to your phone, outlook, or other computer application, you will need to RE-ADD or SYNC the calendar. The new calendar has the name: Bellingham Music 2011-2012. You should be able to sync the new calendar by clicking on the calendar page and click on the icon ” +Google Calendar ” which is the bottom right corner of the posted calendar. If you used the website just to look at the calendar, the functions have not changed and all the dates are still there. If you have any issues, please feel to email us (or ask a student to help you, they probably know more than we do!) – Mrs. Forte (mforte@bellingham.k12.ma.us)

BHS Chamber Ensembles

BHS band students in grades 10, 11, and 12 will be working on a chamber music unit in January. Most groups received music before winter vacation. Please try to communicate with your group over vacation to select 2 – 4 pieces to begin rehearsing. Please sight-read and play these pieces individually over break so you are not sight-reading at your first rehearsal. During the first week of January, groups will select 1 – 2 pieces to perform. All freshmen band students will be working with Mrs. Forte on full band literature in January and upperclassmen will rotate for chamber ensemble rehearsals.

Bellingham Memorial Middle School Winter Concert (Grades 7 & 8 Bands) will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Bellingham High School Auditorium. Students must arrive for warm-up at 5:30 p.m. Concert is FREE and open to the public.

Bellingham High School Winter Concert (featuring Chorus and Concert Band) will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Bellingham High School Auditorium. Students must arrive for warm-up at 6:30 p.m. Concert is FREE and open to the public.

Citrus Fruit Delivery and Pick-Up

The Citrus Fruit Fundraiser will be delivered to Bellingham High School on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Citrus Orders should be picked up on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If your family CANNOT pick up your order on Thursday, please contact Mrs. Forte directly to arrange for a custom pick-up time. All orders can be picked up from the BHS Scene Shop, the room is located near the Band Room and Art Rooms (signs will be posted directing families to this area).
