Changes to BHS Concert Band Curriculum for 2020-2021

We are proud and excited to announce some changes to the band program at BHS for the 2020-2021 school year.  These changes are being announced now so that students and families can use this information when selecting courses for next school year.  We will no longer have a mandatory marching band component as part of the Concert Band curriculum.  These changes will be a positive step in giving students more individual attention and a more challenging instrumental curriculum.  We will have an optional, independent co-curricular marching band that will meet after school, still taught by our music staff.  This independent marching band will open to band students in grades 8-12.  Please see the attached document for the full list of changes for next year.  Please note: one component that will remain for all Concert Band students is the Bellingham Memorial Parade each May, as it is a significant event for our town and school community. BHS Band Announcement New Structure 2020-2021
